Dignity Center

Dignity Centres are transformative spaces established across six locations in the Mandsaur district, designed to address the comprehensive needs of adolescent girls from marginalised communities. These centres tackle systemic issues such as exclusion from education, early marriages, and caste-based sexual slavery, which are rooted in entrenched caste systems and gender inequality. Dignity Centres offer more than just formal education; they provide crucial support in understanding and claiming constitutional rights while fostering holistic development.

The centres are easily accessible as they are located within the communities they serve, and  create a supportive environment where children feel comfortable sharing their issues. Daily sessions led by the motivators cover a wide range of topics, including sexual violence, constitutional rights, life skills, health, and education, while addressing adolescent’s social, physical, and psychological aspects. By offering tailored mentoring and support, Dignity Centres are playing a vital role in empowering them and bridging the gap left by the social structure.

Bal/Balika Panchayat
( Girls Collective )

The Bal Panchayat is an innovative and empowering initiative that provides children with a platform to actively participate in their community’s decision-making processes. This child-led forum allows young individuals to voice their concerns, propose ideas, and collaborate on solutions for issues that impact their lives.

By simulating a democratic structure, the Bal Panchayat helps children develop essential leadership skills, confidence, and a sense of responsibility. Through regular meetings and activities, the Bal Panchayat fosters a sense of agency among children and promotes their active involvement in creating a more inclusive and responsive community.
